Decathlon, Conflicting Objectives and User Preference Querying

چکیده
First motivation of our approach is Decathlon as an athletic discipline and its development in the last century (http://www.decathlon.ee). During this period, motivated by a desire of a fair competition, a development in scoring tables occurred. Today we can say it is stabilized. It shows single disciplines ordered (and scored) in direction of better (harder) achievement. Comparison with single discipline world records shows that current decathlon world record holder (Roman Sebrle, CZ) was able to achieve about 65-92% of physical measurement and about 59-88% of point achievements of single discipline world records. Of course the point of decathlon is that all disciplines should be done by a single athlete in two consecutive days. Total achievement in decathlon is evaluated by the sum of point in single disciplines. Another motivation comes from the paper IHAB F. ILYAS, GEORGE BESKALES and MOHAMED A. SOLIMAN. Developing Preference Band Model to Manage Collective Preferences
Discovering user preference is an important task in various database applications, such as searching product information and rating goods and services. Previous work addressing user preference in databases either assumes that users are able to formulate explicit preference criteria when querying, which may not be feasible in reality, or develops mining techniques to discover users’ implicit pre...
متن کاملInteractive Fuzzy Modeling by Evolutionary Multiobjective Optimization with User Preference
One of the new trends in genetic fuzzy systems (GFS) is the use of evolutionary multiobjective optimization (EMO) algorithms. This is because EMO algorithms can easily handle two conflicting objectives (i.e., accuracy maximization and complexity minimization) when we design accurate and compact fuzzy rule-based systems from numerical data. Since the main advantage of fuzzy rule-based systems co...

When searching for configurable products, helping users to state their preferences is a crucial task. It involves helping users to understand the space of feasible configurations to decide on realistic preferences. However, many computer tools do not afford users to adequately focus on fundamental decision objectives, reveal hidden preferences, revise conflicting preferences, or explicitly reas...
متن کاملConflict resolution in a knowledge-based system using multiple attribute decision-making
The metarules useful in the conflict resolution are often directly related to the multiple, conflicting, and non-commensurate objectives associated with the problem domain. However, in its current form, the use of metarules for conflict resolution has some drawbacks. Above all, the metarule use in rule selection is not tailored to the current situation or the specific user; it is tailored to th...

A key challenge for personalized mobile search is to tailor the answers to the specific user by considering her contextual situation. To adapt the retrieved items to user’s context, this paper presents a preference-enabled querying mechanism for personalized mobile search. By exploiting the user’s dialogue history, we infer the weighted user preferences and interests. To further compute persona...
